The campervan motored on for over 4000km in just under three weeks without complaining except the engine battery failed after two days. Engineer arrived in under two hours, replaced battery and no issue thereafter.
Catch to bathroom door was broken when I picked it up and was held together with a bit of electrical insulating tape. Fell apart after one day so door wouldn’t stay shut. Nothing would wedge it closed so it kept slamming open and closed until I finally found a dealer (on third try) which sold the same latch and I fitted it in a few minutes. Cost AUD12, which should have been spent by the depot before handing the van over, instead of leaving it to the customer. Sent photo of receipt to company and presented original when handed back but still waiting for my AUD12 three days later.
Side window fell out when opening it on 5th day. Managed to lock it shut but couldn’t use it for rest of holiday. Company suggested I took it into Brisbane depot to be fixed. I’m on holiday, I’d already spent time sorting out the door latch and more time waiting for battery to be replaced so I didn’t see why I should lose more of my holiday making further repairs.
Other than those issues, the van performed well. As a solo traveller, having the permanent bed was great as there was still plenty of room for one person. I don’t know how two people would cope but I did see some couples in the same vehicle. The driver’s seat turned round was very comfortable for eating, reading, relaxing, etc. Aircon was excellent, though loud. Water pump emitted huffing sound every 10-15 seconds so had to be switched off overnight. Could have done with a less rushed and more complete briefing before driving off, eg, only after buying loo paper and washing up liquid did I discover the bucket hidden in the rear storage compartment containing them. Booklet that came with the van was comprehensive and very useful - except it said nothing about refilling the gas bottle if needed. Luckily, it didn’t need refilling but it was always on my mind.
